The Stanley S. Zack Library of the AJCC, which is run by volunteers, contains over 5,000 books and videos on Jewish subjects and keeps expanding by donations and purchasing.  Non-Fiction topics include Bible and archeology Biographies Education History of Zionism Israel Jewish art & photography Jewish cuisine Jewish ethics Jewish history from ancient to modern times Jewish holidays & Holy Days Jewish philosophy Jewish religion & practices Jewish sociology Jewish sports Literature Fiction Jewish authors Jewish topics Special Section & Collections Devoted to the Holocaust and its victims Some picturesque and precious books, e.g. Haggadah collection Haggadah Collection donated by an Israel-born Hebrew and Judaic studies teacher in Long Beach and Orange County Camilla Shvartz Reference Section contains 42-volume Talmud Encyclopaedia Judaica 7-volume Dictionary and Thesaurus of Hebrew Language Whos Who in World Jewry Dictionaries and information sources , e.g. a Dictionary of Jewish Names and their History. Help us raise the money
for new books!
The Library welcomes donations of any books. The books on Jewish issues will be included in the librarys inventory. The other ones, displayed on book shelves in the lobby next to library entrance and inside Bluberry Hill, are available for sale at a flat rate of 50 cents per book. The raised money - a substantial contribution to the librarys limited budget will be used to buy new books. |
