RSVP is a unique program for people 55 and older who are willing to donate anywhere from four to forty hours a week. Its flexibility allows persons of various skill levels and expertise to help resolve problems that affect their communities. Volunteers provide for the homeless and hungry, mentor children, assist in community policing, prepare tax returns for elderly and low-income individuals and so many more assignments.
Put your life experience to work with RSVP. You will be joining many others who are giving their time to improve the lives of men, women, and children in communities nationwide. With RSVP you can match your talents and interests to the needs of your community. For 30 years RSVP has matched community problems and needs with those individuals willing and able to help.
Accident and Liability Insurance Coverage Free to Volunteers
Because we value your commitment to the community we are able to provide to volunteers, at no charge, a portal-to-portal insurance policy. This coverage includes a secondary medical, automobile and a $1,000,000 liability policy to protect our volunteers. You should feel safe in your efforts. It should not cost you to volunteer.

Welcome to the world of volunteering. In volunteering you will be able to live out those "fantasy" vocations that were always on your "when I grow up, I want to be...." list. Now you can actually fulfill that dream as a volunteer. Your skills, experience, training, and passion can be utilized by a myriad of agencies that are looking just for you. Without having to worry about your salary and making ends meet, you can now pick and choose the field you always dreamed of. Your gift of time will make a difference and could be the most important thing you do in your life.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a resourceful way to remain active, involved, and connected to the community you live in while also providing worthwhile services. What a great way to meet new friends and tackle real needs that mesh with your own personal interests. Volunteerism is a productive way to fill the second half of life.
RSVP provides an essential and beneficial service in meeting critical community needs in the greater Long Beach community. As a program of the AJCC, RSVP is designed to enhance the quality of life for our older adults as well as contributing to the well being of our community. As part of a national network of volunteers, RSVP provides local opportunities for all adults age 55+ to expand and exercise their minds while enhancing their own personal growth and self-awareness through volunteerism. Through the arena of volunteering, older adults are able to utilize their life experiences, learn new skills, and contribute to the many not-for-profit agencies that rely on volunteers to provide services to those most in need.

If you're currently volunteering and find that you are ready for new challenges to replace or augment what you're currently doing, call RSVP. If you're looking for an opportunity to reconnect to your community, we'll act as your broker. Because we value your efforts and commitment to the community, RSVP provides additional benefits to its volunteers (for example, as a volunteer you will be provided a "portal to portal" insurance policy at no charge to you).
