What is the ECE all about?
As we are taking an abundance of caution and limiting the number of people coming into the ECE during this pandemic, we’ve created this video to show new families who we are and why parents in Long Beach love us! Take a look and let us know if we can answer any additional questions.
Early Childhood Education (Preschool)
The Alpert JCC’s award winning Early Childhood Education program is truly one of the best places for your children to be. Our loving and trained staff provide learning and growth opportunities that will help each child grow into a sensitive, self-directed, creative and confident whole person.
Gan Hamaish (Kindergarten)
With the school year looking a little different, we knew we had to help the parents in our community during these difficult times! We’ve added Gan Hamaish (Kindergarten) Program to our portfolio.
Sheva Early Learning Frame Work
Sheva is the number 7 in Hebrew. Our ECE follows the Sheva Framework, developed using the latest research on child development to create an early childhood experience that will help your child achieve social, emotional and academic success.
When I became a new mother, the JCC welcomed our family as part of the ECE. I have seen my daughter move through the ECE and graduate from the Pre-K program building strong relationships with her classmates and teachers. Now, in Kid's University (the after-school program upstairs), I see the continuity of the same values that we experienced in the ECE. They value connection and community.
As a preschooler, our son was eager to experience all of the options that the JCC had to offer. This year he took an array of different classes, including Spanish, yoga, Karate, art, music, and gardening.
Our family also enjoys the swimming pool, basketball court, and fitness options!
I highly recommend the Alpert JCC!

Early Childhood Events
For the very first time, the Alpert JCC will be holding it's annual meeting virtually.
Please join us as we recognize our new incoming President, Dr. Barry Zamost and outgoing President, Dr. Matt Davis, welcome our 2020-2021 Board Members, and acknowledge our outstanding volunteers, center supporters, and long-term employees. We'll also present new developments and initiatives for the upcoming year.
All members of the J Community are encouraged to attend this FREE event.
Please join us to make Sukkot jar lamps! Learn about Sukkot and hear a special Sukkot Story.
Let's Get Social

One of the better parts of being a parent is enjoying new experiences alongside your baby—while also meeting new friends and having social interaction with other moms and dads who relate exactly to what you’re going through. Here’s your chance to interact with your young one in one of our fun, structured Parent and Child classes.
