Purim Masks and Groggers with Dana

Feb, 24 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Happy Purim! On Purim, masks and costumes are worn to represent how the Jewish people had to disguise themselves. We shake noisemakers, or groggers, during the reading of the Megillah when we hear the name of Haman (booo!), to drown out the name of the villain!

Join Dana and J Family on Facebook Live at 4 PM for a fun demo on how to make your own masks and groggers using everyday items!

What you will need for groggers:

  • Paper Plate
  • Hot Glue gun
  • Dried beans
  • Popsicle stick or disposable knife
  • Markers and stickers to decorate

What you will need for masks:

  • Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon or string
  • Markers or crayons to decorate
  • Optional:
    • Feathers
    • Rhinestones
    • Stickers

The J Family Program is made possible in part by a generous grant from Jewish Long Beach.
